Hank Kirschenmann
Manager, Higher Education and Nonprofits, Attain
Hank Kirschenmann delivers more than 16 years of expertise and first-hand knowledge of client needs in the higher education market, having spent nine years inside The George Washington University and Georgetown— two of the nation’s top research universities. There he was responsible for coordinating the preparation and negotiation of facilities and administrative (F&A) and fringe benefit rate proposals, managing on-line costing studies and costing support systems, and coordinating audits.
“I’ve been on the other side of the fence and know what universities are going through. Across the country, colleges and universities don’t always have the personnel on their staff with the deep experience needed to do this kind of work,” Kirschenmann says.
Leading Attain’s seasoned consulting teams to achieve breakthrough results for college and university research communities throughout the country, Kirschenmann effectively applies Attain’s capabilities in grants management, business process outsourcing, cost recovery and electronic research administration, among other services. His wealth of knowledge spans the nuances of college and university cost accounting, including activities related to facilities and administrative (F&A) rate proposals, the preparation, submission and audit of CAS disclosure statements, as well as the many facets of the Federal regulatory environment that affects institutions of higher learning.
Most recently, Hank was the team lead for a project at one of the largest research university’s in the country. Hank led the team through the difficult three year F&A project that will eventually lead to hundreds of millions of dollars in annual revenue for the University.
“Hank is very good at bringing people together to support each other and the needs of the client. It paid off in so many ways for this project, including a result that exceeded client expectations,” said Wally Davis, Attain Partner, Higher Education and Nonprofits.
Kirschenmann holds a master’s degree in Financial Management from the University of Maryland, College Park.
